The energy sector is important to Samoa's economic, social, infrastructure and environmental composition. This plan has therefore been developed using extensive consultation with many groups. The purpose of the Energy Sector Plan is to provide a comprehensive plan for the energy sector to deliver outcomes consistent with the overarching Strategy for the Development of Samoa (SDS) 2012-2016, with due regard for cross-cutting issues including emphasising the importance of raising living standards, increasing resilience and boosting productivity for sustainable development. It provides a resourcing framework to support implementation of the plan.

This qualification is a generic qualification aimed to those who may already be working in a field related to Resilience, or those who wish to pursue career in Resilience. Unit standards are applied across diverse fields of resilience.

On Monday 4th of April 2016 11:30am, the fire at one of the fuel tanks located at Apia port fuel depot at Matautu. There are three tanks, one with fuel and two with diesel. All three tanks have an estimated capacity of 6000 tons.
