Joint Platform for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Roundtable Meeting Report

2017
The FRDP and PRP have an inclusive approach and are committed to working through a collective effort, linking climate change and disaster risk management. The FRDP and PRP also represent a risk informed approach to development guided by the principles of the Framework for Pacific Regionalism. The role of the proposed Taskforce is particularly important and will be supported by a support unit and technical working groups. The challenge is translating the FRDP into practical actions and resource mobilisation. As espoused in the FRDP inclusivity is important, however large groups can be hard to operate and the challenge ahead is how stakeholders move together for practical actions that benefit the region. The key messages are integration of the two communities of practice; and mainstreaming community based disaster risk management. On implementation it was acknowledged that no agency can do the work alone and must involve different stakeholders and their respective strengths.

Land Resources Division Strategic Plan 2009-2012
SPC
2014
This second integrated strategic plan of the Land Resources Division of SPC is the outcome of an extensive participatory consultative process involving representatives of many of LRD's stakeholders at national, regional and international levels. Technical meetings (including the 2006 Heads of Agriculture and Forestry Services(HOAFS), 2007 Regional Technical Meeting on Plant Protection (RTMPP), and 2007 Pacific Heads of Veterinary & Animal Health Production Services (PHOVAPS) held over the last biennium provided inputs into the formulation of the plan.

Climate Change Resilience, Biodiversity Conservation
Available Online
SPC
2013
The purpose of this report is to summarise a review of the degree to which climate change has so far been mainstreamed in national strategic plans, policies and budgets, and in a sectoral case study (presented in Annex 1) the extent to which mainstreaming has translated to implementation. Table 1 shows the criteria used in this review to assess the degree of mainstreaming of climate change, as well as some general remarks in relation to the reviews findings for Tuvalu.

1994
This Environmental Legislation Review for the Republic of Palau was carried out in Palau from February 23 to March 2, 1994. The Review is part of the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme's (SPREP) National Environmental Management Strategy (NEMS) project undertaken in seven Pacific Island countries. One component of the NEMS project is providing an inventory, description and assessment of laws relevant to the environment to enable governments to make their own decisions on the standards of environmental legislation required and set the pace for appropriate reforms. This Review follows a similar format to those undertaken in other countries under the NEMS project and the SPREP Regional Environment Technical Assistance (RETA) programme.
