The new Framework will provide guidance for the region on key priorities for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management for the next six years with clear linkages to the global Aichi Biodiversity Targets and National Biodiversity Strategy and Acion Plans. climate-sensitive development sectors: coastal zone management, food security and food production, and water resources management. The programme began in 2009 and is scheduled to end in December 2014.

Invasive species pose some of the greatest environmental and economic threats to the Nations forests, grasslands, and waterways. To ensure the continued production of needed goods, services, and values from our Nations terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, the Forest Service, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), must implement a strategic systems approach for managing invasive species.
