Abstract
This report is to update the UNNCD Regional Secretariat and SPREP on the latest development on the implementation of the UNCCD in Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea ratified the Convention in December 2000. The Focal point was transferred to the Secretary. Department of Environment and Conservation in May, 2001 and the Action Office was taken up by the Greenhouse Unit, Office of the Secretary. So far PNG has not attended any UNCCD COP Meeting after it ratified the Convention. However PNG did attend the Pacific and Asia Pacific Regional Meetings in 2001.
