One World:Solomon Islands Fisheries/Year of the Sea Turtle Campaign

Abstract

A report on the illegal export of endangered giant clams in Solomon Islands bound for overseas markets, and the Year of the Sea Turtle Campaign undertaken by SPREP and the Fiji Department of Environment and Conservation. Carolyn Court speaks to Robert Walter of the Solomon Islands Fisheries regarding this discovery which found a Taiwanese Company trying to export endangered giant clams. Hoseki Badibasangha and Wes Ward of SPREP, comment on the Year of the Sea Turtle Campaign, discussing activities involved and the roles of SPREP and the Fiji Department of Environment and Conservation in this undertaking.
