Abstract
The largest threat to turtles and their continued survival comes from man. This film shows how turtles continue to be slaughtered througout the world from Japan being the largest exporter, to Mexico and the city of Lima where a black market exists raising the death toll. A case study of Florida shows how development on the coast greatly affects the survival of one turtle species, the Loggerhead. It is hoped that with programmes such as hatcheries, community support to control predation, as well as the continued cooperation from environmental organisations like Greenpeace, tu tle population can slowly increase to be around for another century.
