Design for a Natural Forest Inventory for Biodiversity Assessment, Forest Product Potential and Plant Protection Implications

The few remaining natural forests on Tonga are limited in extend, being primarily restricted to steep, inaccessible areas, remote, uninhabited islands, and coastal areas, swamps and mangroves. Accessible natural forests often represent remnants of diversity that still may be lost with agricultural development and encroachment.
